Nuts

Nuts are a type of fastener commonly used in various applications to secure two or more objects together. They are typically paired with bolts or threaded rods and provide a threaded hole for the bolt to engage with. Nuts come in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and materials to suit different requirements.

Nuts have internal threads that match the external threads of the bolt or threaded rod. The most common thread types for nuts are Metric, Metric Fine, Imperial coarse threads (UNC) and Imperial fine threads (UNF). These threads are standardized and ensure compatibility with corresponding bolts or threaded rods.

Nuts are available in different sizes and dimensions, typically measured based on the diameter and pitch of the corresponding bolt or threaded rod. The sizing is usually expressed in a standardized format such as “M8 x 1.25” (for metric nuts) or “1/4″-20” (for imperial nuts), where the first number represents the diameter and the second number represents the pitch or threads per inch.
