Partially threaded bolts have a portion of their length threaded while the remaining portion is unthreaded, also referred to as the shank. This design offers specific advantages in certain applications. The unthreaded section also contributes to the structural integrity of the bolt, enhancing its strength.
Part-thread bolts are commonly used in applications where a secure fastening is required, but there is a need for clearance or adjustability. The unthreaded section allows for easy alignment of components and reduces the risk of damaging threads during installation.
