BSF socket screws (British Standard Fine) are a high tensile type of fastener commonly used in mechanical and engineering applications. They have a hexagonal recess allowing for a more secure grip when tightening or loosening with an allen key or hex wrench.
BSF threads have a finer pitch and a shallower depth than their course thread counterparts - BSW. They have become less common over time, but are still used in specific applications or in vintage machinery.
BSF socket screw types include socket cap screws, socket button screws, countersunk (CSK) socket screws and socket set (grub) screws. They come in zinc plated and unplated self colour.
